Khaled Al Qubaisi

Proton competition driver Khaled Al Qubaisi has been concentrating on his fitness levels ahead of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans from June 14 to 15.
Qubaisi, who is already in Le Mans where his Porsche 911 RSR was subjected to the mandatory scrutineering process, said: "I have been working on my fitness levels over the last few weeks, drinking plenty of water which helps clean the body and increase focus.”
The Abu Dhabi native, who will be sharing driving duties with German Christian Ried and Klaus Bachler of Austria, is looking forward to the endurance race in which he is participating for just the second time.
Qubaisi added: "Last week the test sessions went very well where the car was quick. This year I am much more prepared than in 2013 as I am now used to the atmosphere at Le Mans. Also, I am not feeling the stress and anxiety that was there on my debut last year. I can't wait to start the race on Saturday.”
The driver revealed that there will be a seven-hour practice session on June 11 followed by qualifying on Thursday.
Qubaisi is excited by the tradition drivers' parade, and added: "On Friday we will have the historic parade in the town centre amongst tens of thousands of fans which is a great experience.” The endurance gets under way on June 14.
The race can be followed online at http://www.lemans.org. Proton Competition runs under sponsorship of Emirates Global Aluminium and is backed by Abu Dhabi Racing.
