Al Wakra SC gave their chances of survival a massive boost after beating Lekhwiya 2-0 on Friday.
Mohsen Metwaly opened the scoring on the 38th minute and Maher Youssef put the game beyond doubt on the 87th minute. Al Wakra had lost the corresponding fixture 2-6.
Al Wakra now have 29 points and moved to 11th place. Lekhwiya remain in fourth place with 41 points.
