Egyptian powerlifter Amany el Desouky won the bronze medal in powerlifting at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Desouky lifted 127 kg in the women's -73 kg category.

Ndidi Nwosu of Nigeria won gold medal after lifting 140 kg, while France's Souhad Ghazouani secured silver after she also lifted 140 kg.
