Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has emphasised the keen interest of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular, to attract and care for all global sports and to disseminate a culture of sport as a way of life for all members of the community.
This statement came when H.H. Sheikh Maktoum opened the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, Sports Hall in Gulf Solvents Trading FZCO, the first of its kind in the region and the Middle East.
Following the opening, Sheikh Maktoum toured the hall's facilities, where he was briefed by Lorenzo Fertitta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ultimate Fighting Championship, on capabilities and the equipment which has been developed, including a private ring to exercise UFC. The new hall is expected to attract fans of the sport which enjoys a global reputation, particularly in the United States.
Sheikh Maktoum expressed his admiration of the facility and its provision of modern equipment and services for amateur exponents of the UFC sport in the country, and wished them much success.
