Kuwait has obtained the 13th position in the list of medal winners in the competitions of the 17th Asian Games or ASIAD held in Incheon, South Korea.
This came as Kuwaiti teams have won two silver medals at the trap shooting single and team competitions.
Kuwait comes first among the participating Arab countries to garner medals in the Asian games so far.
Furthermore, squash player Abdullah Al-Muzain has qualified to the quarterfinal after beating his Indian rival 3.0, but Ammar Al-Tamimi was forced out of the competition by Qatari player Abdullah Al-Tamimi.
Kuwait's national handball team has beaten Hong Kong 40.20 and will play Iran in the next game.
Kuwait has also beaten Pakistan in the volleyball competition and will face Saudi Arabia in a decisive game that will decide who will advance to the next session.
However, the national football team left the competition as they were defeated by Iraq three-0.
South Korea has garnered 31 medals, including 12 gold, 10 silver and nine bronze, followed by China which has obtained 32 medals, including 12 gold, nine silver and 11 bronze, and then Japan by 26 medals involving nine gold, eight silver and 11 bronze.
The 17th Asian Games, also known as the ASIAD, began on September 19th with the participation of about 30,000 male and female athletes. The games will run until October 4th.
