Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the Public Security Sports Association President who introduced to him Policewoman Fatima Jamal Bursheed, from RAP, who won the bronze medal in the World Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Championship for the weight 70.3 KG that was held from November 12 to 19 with the participation of 51 countries.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Deputy Chief of Public Security and RAP Commandant.
The Interior Minister lauded the efforts of the Supreme Council for Youth and Support (SCYS) and Bahrain Olympic Committee, under the presidency of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to develop Bahrain Sport and provide the necessary support. He hailed the achievement as the dividend of the major support provided to the mixed martial arts in Bahrain by HH Shaikh Nasser and SCYS First Deputy Chairman and Honorary President of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He also congratulated the winner, lauding her achievement and highlighting the important role of the Public Security Sports Association in improving the skills of the Interior Ministry teams to participate and win in local and international competitions. (MOI)
