The Gulf Cup of Nations Standing Committee of Secretaries-General convened a meeting here on Monday with participation of Kuwait Football Association (KFA) Secretary-General Saho Al-Saho.
During the meeting, secretaries general of the six GCC football associations, in addition to representatives of Iraq and Yemen, approved a number of recommendations regarding the regulations and schedule of the next 23rd edition of the Gulf Cup, Ahmed Al-Khamis, committee's chairman, stated following the meeting.
Al-Khamis, also Secretary-General of Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), said the meeting also discussed a memorandum of cooperation between participating associations at the tournament, including cooperation in referees' exchange, noting that recommendations are to be submitted during a meeting of chiefs of GCC football associations on Tuesday.
Responding to a question on next host-country of the 23rd edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations, following Iraq's withdrawal, Al-Khamis said that Kuwait has shown desire and willingness to host the event, noting, however, that a decision is to be made regarding this matter during tomorrow's meeting of chiefs of GCC football associations.
