Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has announced an 18-man squad from Nigeria’s friendly game on 9 August dropping starman Kevin-Prince Boateng for disciplinary reasons. The 24-year old midfielder claims he is recovering from surgery but featured in AC Milan’s friendly game against Solbiatese last Wednesday. According to the Ghanaian media Boateng is suspected of picking up games as he has several times before turned down call-ups to play for the Black Stars in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Ghanaian officials have so decided to exclude him from the game and his case will be under further examination. Boateng won’t be the only one missing as Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has been ruled out with a knee injury that will keep him on the sidelines until January. Stevanovic has included two new faces in the team Norway-born goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey and Ghana youth midfielder Rabiu Mohammed.   Ghana squad: Goalkeepers: Richard Kingson (Unattached), Adam Larsen Kwarasey (Stromgodest,Norway) Defenders: Samuel Inkoom (FC Dnipro, Ukraine), John Paintsil (Leicester City, England), Daniel Opare (Standard Liege, Belgium), Nana Akwasi Asare (FC Utrecht, Netherlands), John Mensah (Olympique Lyon, France), Isaac Vorsah (TSG Hoffenheim, Germany), Jonathan Mensah (Evian Thonon-Gaillard, France) Midfielders: Rabiu Mohammed (Evian Thonon-Gaillard, France), Anthony Annan (Schalke 04, Germany), Andre Ayew (Olympique Marseille, France), Kwadwo Asamoah, Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu (Udinese, Italy), Sulley Muntari (Inter Milan, Italy) Strikers: Dominic Adiyiah (Karsiyaka, Turkey), Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland, England), Prince Tagoe (TSG Hoffenheim, Germany)
