The Ministry of Education held a fitness marathon at Dohat Arad walkway as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebrations of its National Days on December 16 and 17, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the modern state of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 43rd Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 15th Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Accession to the Throne.
The evening clubs affiliated with the Directorate of Students’ Services organised the event under the slogan ""My Beloved Homeland". The marathon attracted a total of 396 teachers and evening club students.
Fruit and vegetables were distributed to the participants as part of efforts to promote healthy lifestyle and eating habits. Zenubia Girls Intermediate School Volunteer Club took part in the marathon and delivered a lecture, stressing the importance of protecting the environment during visits to Dohat Arad walkway.
