Bahrainis become top MMA world champions

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, Honorary Chairman of the Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the BRAVE International Combat Week and the fourth edition of the Mixed Martial Arts World Championship has led Bahraini mixed martial arts with strong capability towards making them leaders of the world champions, by forming a strong team that includes a strong group of fighters, able to fight courageously and bravely to reach achievements in the name of the Kingdom.


HH Shaikh Khalid's efforts to win the trust of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and allowing Bahrain to host the fourth edition of the tournament, have resulted in making Bahrain one of the main countries in the field of mixed martial arts, and a launching location for the game into the region and Asia.

Those who followed what was done by His Highness is fully aware of the magnitude of the great work done by him in both administrative and technical aspects of the team. In addition to his great efforts to allow the Kingdom to host the fourth edition of the World Championship after being monopolized by Las Vegas for the last three editions, this marked a leap in the march of this distinguished sport and made the Bahrain championship the best and largest in all respects.

The efforts of His Highness did not stop at this point, but he moved on to build a large conglomerate in cooperation with the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation. The international congress of the game, which will be held in Bahrain, will be the real start towards realizing the dream of the Mixed Martial Arts family to be part of the Olympic Games.

Bahrain's championship noting that the number of countries that participated in 2014 in the first edition were (22) countries represented by (100) fighters, while in the second edition in 2015, (28) countries participated, represented by (139) fighters, in the third edition in 2016, (33) countries participated, represented by (210) fighters, and finally the fourth edition in 2017 in Bahrain, which broke all previous records where (51) countries participated, represented by (254) fighters, in a strong indicator of the strong hosting of the Kingdom of Bahrain of the tournament.

Among the obvious advantages of Bahrain's hosting of the tournament is the live broadcast of the tournament by the Bahrain Sports Channel, highlighting the competition and events that will be held in the tournament in a professional manner.
