HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee commended on the remarkable results achieved by Bahraini athletes in the annual ATU Sprint Triathlon African Cup and Pan Arab Sprint Triathlon Championships held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the Kingdom of Bahrain continue to impress the world by achieving great results in regional and international sports events, adding that the recent accomplishment in Sharm El Sheikh adds to the honourable record of the Kingdom’s triathlon sport.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the team’s achievement would motivate Bahraini triathletes to accomplish more titles in the future and improve the Bahraini triathlon sport. He appreciated the efforts paid by Bahrain Triathlon Association members spearheaded by Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The team scored good results in this year’s edition of the championships, as Samira Bitar won the Pan Arab Champion title in the professionals category, while Abdulla Ateya and Mohammed Mubarak bagged the same title for the youth and juniors categories respectively. Bahraini Musa Al Qarsh won the African and Pan Arab Champion title in the pros duathlon contest, while the second spot went to his teammate Maali Abu Al Noor.
Bahrain Triathlon Association President Shaikh Saqr bin Salman Al Khalifa dedicated the victory to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
He added that the achievement comes as a result of the continuous patronage and support of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to triathlon sports and athletes in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
