Bahrain endurance team

Following directives from its Captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team will participate in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Race Challenge for a total distance of 160km.
The event, held in honour of Sheikh Mohammed, the UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will be held in the Seeh Al Salam International Endurance Village on Saturday with the participation of a group of GCC and international riders.
The event is considered as one of the strongest in the region due to the participation of the most talented riders and horses, thus expecting a high technical level.
The Bahrain Royal Team will compete in the challenge with two riders, namely Abdulrahman Al Sa’ad on his horse Larzak and Raed Mahmoud on his horse Samba.
In this context, Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed his happiness with the participation of the Bahrainis, adding that the team in is aiming for great success in the event, which is dear to all of us and which will hopefully contribute to give the team’s experience in endurance sport.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said that they are keen to participate in this race to contribute to its success, as well as for the team’s UAE brothers and the other participating countries in the race. He stressed that the presence of the Bahraini riders in the race came to give them a chance to compete with UAE and other world-class talents.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said that the race will certainly be a tough one, with the presence of a prominent group of riders and horses specialised in long-distance races. He said that taking on such a distance needs special horses prepared for such a ride, along with a good plan and strategy.
On his part, the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Endurance Committee Chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed that the participation of the Royal Endurance Team in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum race, which is one of the most powerful races in UAE and the region, is a new challenge for the team in overseas competitions.
The race witnesses a wide participation annually of the UAE, GCC and Arab riders. He expected that this year’s event will be stronger due to the size of participation and the presence of a group of prominent riders, stressing that such a large presence would have a positive impact on the team. He expressed confidence of his team’s riders to achieve positive results in the race.
Meanwhile, the veterinary examination will be held today at the race venue. The organising committee has set all the administrative and regulatory procedures according to International Equestrian Federation laws and regulations for endurance sport, looking towards ensuring the success of the veterinary examination process.
