Meeting

An executive cooperation programme in the field of sports has been signed Wednesday at the headquarters of the Algerian Olympic Committee in Algiers by Minister of Sports Mohamed Tahmi and his Malian counterpart Housseini Amion Guindo.
The three-year programme (2014-2017) provides for the training of young Malians at schools and institutes in Algeria, as well as a short-term training for coaches.
"In Mali, we suffer from shortage of human resources. The programme signed between the two countries will enable each year 30 young Malian students to receive training in Algeria. Over the three year, 30 young Malian students will benefit from Algeria's experience in the field," said the Malian minister of Sports at the end of the signing ceremony.
"I accompanied our national football team for its match against Algeria as part of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and I discussed with the Algerian minister of Sports cooperation opportunities between the two countries. Two weeks later, we received an invitation to sign the executive programme. This shows the strong ties between Algeria and Mali," he said.
During its visit to Algeria, the Malian delegation, led by the sports minister and comprising presidents and representatives of 19 sports federations, visited July-5th Stadium (under renovation), the stadium of Baraki (under construction), the Sports high school of Draria, the national institute of sports medicine and the Higher institute of Sports Science and Technology of Ain Benian.
