Willian Jose scored both goals as Brazilian giants Sao Paulo won 2-0 away to Universidad de Chile in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals on Wednesday. The 20-year-old forward opened the scoring after eight minutes with a powerful shot from outside the box and doubled the advantage 10 minutes later with his 15th goal of the season. The match became even more difficult for Jorge Sampaoli\'s side in the 25th minute as defender Eugenio Mena fouled Osvaldo after the forward stole the ball and was shown a red card. The defending champions then decided to adopt damage limitation tactics rather than reducing the deficit and their 25-match unbeaten run ended as Ney Franco\'s team claimed an important victory at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago ahead of the second leg on 7 November. Jose said afterwards that this was the best way to silence those who have criticised him during a two-month scoreless run. He said: \"After fans booed me at the Morumbi (stadium), I trained very hard for another opportunity and I grabbed it with both hands. \"Thank God I managed to play a good match and I\'ve been blessed with two goals tonight.\" From FIFA
