Chievo confirmed their giant-killing ways by fighting back to beat 10-man Genoa with the last kick of the game despite missing a penalty. The Grifone aimed to hang on to the Serie A leadership, but faced a side that beat previous table-toppers Napoli midweek. Sergio Pellissier returned from an injury, while the visitors missed Giandomenico Mesto and Ze Eduardo. In the opening minutes some desperate defending charged down chances for Cruzado and Rodrigo Palacio, while Stefano Sorrentino put Miguel Veloso\'s effort out for a corner.Cruzado had a fantastic opportunity to put Chievo in front at the 16th, as he pounced on a poor clearance to smash a shot on the volley that beat Sebastien Frey to skim the upright.USA international Michael Bradley spread the play for Gennaro Sardo, but no Chievo teammates were ready to get on the end of the dangerous cross. At the other end, Andrea Caracciolo wasn\'t quite quick enough to make the most of a smart Jorquera through ball and picked up an injury in the process.Chievo really should\'ve scored on the half-hour mark, but when Pellissier sent Luca Rigoni clear on goal, the midfielder fired too centrally and Frey was able to parry with an outstretched foot.Jorquera attempted two strikes in quick succession, but the Chievo defence and Sorrentino were equal to them.Genoa pushed hard towards half-time and went very close on a rapid counter-attack, but Sorrentino parried Lucas Pratto\'s snapshot. The visitors took the lead straight after the restart when Jorquera threaded through to release Palacio down the left, as the Argentine held off Morero to beat Sorrentino with an angled drive.Chievo had a chance to get back into the game, as Pellissier was sent clear into the box and got ahead of Dario Dainelli, who clipped his heels. It seemed to be accidental, so the penalty was clear, but the straight red card was rather harsh. Pellissier got back up, but Frey guessed the right angle and flew to palm the spot-kick offthe line. The hosts risked going further behind, as Pratto went on the counter from a Chievo corner and forced Sorrentino to parry with his feet.Pellissier made up for the penalty error by grabbing the equaliser. A corner was whipped in for his towering header, but the hitman was given far too much space to net.Chievo kept trying, but their finishes were off target or too weak to trouble Frey. Their confidence was also sapped when Pellissier pulled out with cramp, so both teams had 10 men. They finally turned it around in the final 30 seconds of injury time. A Sardo cross came in from the right and David Moscardelli\'s diving header again took advantage of poor defending, slotting into the far bottom corner.
