Dutch veteran coach Dick Advocaat has signed a one-year contract to lead Fenerbahce Istanbul, the club announced Wednesday. 
The 68-year-old Advocaat on Monday stepped down from his post as assistant coach of the Netherlands national team after only a couple of months on the job. One of his biggest achievements was winning the UEFA Cup in 2008. 
Fenerbahce will begin the 2016-17 season on Sunday at Istanbul Basaksehir.
