CSKA Moscow powered to a 5-3 victory at Anzhi Makhachkala to keep the pressure on leaders Zenit St Petersburg in the Russian Premier League. With two rounds of matches remaining, Zenit remain two points ahead of CSKA, whose late-season slump has seen them relinquish first place. But CSKA were 3-0 winners against Trabzonspor in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and impressed again today against their big-spending opponents, who moved into a fourth-minute lead when Samuel Eto\'o scored. By the time Anzhi scored again, they were trailing 5-1, as two goals from Seydou Doumbia were followed by further efforts from Vagner Love and Alan Dzagoev, plus an Ali Gadzhibekov own goal. Anzhi pulled a goal back after 86 minutes through Jan Holenda, who also added their third in the 90th minute. Zenit were convincing 3-1 winners away from home against Rostov, with first-half goals from Miguel Danny, Aleksandar Lukovic, and Alexander Bukharov putting them comfortably clear. Hector Bracamonte scored a consolation for Rostov early in the second half. Spartak Moscow beat bottom side Tomsk 4-0 thanks to goals from Marek Suchy, Ferreira Ari, who scored twice, and Dmitriy Kayumov.
