Prince Abdel Aziz Bin Salman

Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz issued a number of royal decrees, including the appointment of Prince Abdel Aziz Bin Salman as the minister of state for energy affairs. The Saudi official worked as deputy minister of petroleum and mineral wealth during the recent years.

Prince Abdel Aziz is considered one of the familiar personalities in the international oil arena, as he was considered the second of the Petroleum Ministry since 1980s. He performed a major role in the negotiations held between OPEC’s members to resolve the problem that resulted from the notable decline in the oil prices during the recent years.

The Saudi official performed a major role in drafting the Saudi oil policies during the recent period in cooperation with Minister of Petroleum Khaled Al Faleh and his predecessor Ali Al Neimi. He also performed a major role to push OPEC for keeping the balance of oil market through keeping the rates of oil production despite the decline of its price.

The Saudi prince served in the Ministry of Petroleum since 1987, as he took a large number of positions inside it. He is a member of Oxford Institute for Energy Studies founded by Robert Mabro. He chaired the Saudi National Committee of World Energy Council in London.
