Officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) radio stations held their 17th meeting here on Sunday.
Today's meeting aimed at enhancing coordination among the GCC radio stations, Assistant Undersecretary for Radio Affairs at Kuwait's Ministry of Information Sheikh Fahad Al-Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah said.
He added that participants followed up recommendations of the 16th meeting.
They also agreed to provide support to the "This is the Arabian Gulf Radio", and that each of the member states will offer a program to be transmitted through it, in addition to exchanging announcers and programs among the GCC radio stations, Sheikh Fahad Al- Mubarak said.
The GCC officials discussed developing the "This is the Arabian Gulf Radio" based in Bahrain, and the potential of transmitting it to all GCC states, head of the Second Channel and Local Stations at the Ministry Nasser Bader Al-Tararwa, said.
Participants discussed the type of programs in the stations, that have to be social ones appealing to all categories of the GCC society, he added.
For his part, Director of Radio Bahrain Yunus Sulaiman said that frequency allocation for the "This is the Arabic Gulf Radio" which was launched in Bahrain in October 2013, topped the agenda of the 17th meeting.
