Fujairah - WAM
Mekki Abdulla, Chief Executive Officer of Fujairah Media Group, has welcomed the Governor of Central Equatorial State (CES), the Republic of South Sudan, General Clement Wani Konga.
Speaking at the Group's headquarters in Fujairah, Abdulla said that Fujairah Media Group had been actively working with CES since the birth of the world's newest country in 2011, the Republic of South Sudan. "We have overcome great challenges in establishing these radio and television stations for our partners in CES. But it is with great pride that we will be opening the facilities in May 2015.
"Media can help create a stable state, transmitting knowledge and education and refuting rumours," Abdulla said. Despite difficult circumstances in South Sudan, the Group had remained committed to completing the project.
He paid tribute to the courageous stand taken by Governor General Konga in supporting such a key development and seeing it through. More than 40 members of staff from CES Broadcast Corporation have been trained in Fujairah over the last period in preparation of the opening of services.
Fujairah Media Group is an "edifice of integrated media," Governor Konga said. The training of South Sudanese broadcasters by the Group has paved the way for the launch of radio and television services in South Sudan's Central and Equatoria State at the completed facilities in Juba which is also the capital of the Republic of South Sudan next month.
