Various Yemeni circles have condemned a recent statement made by the UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, dismissing it as biased to Iranian-backed Houthi militia, which he named as the "de facto authority" and legitimized it in a move that would help in marketing the Iranian Houthi gang to the world.
A number of scholars, in Yemen, described the statement as provocative and considered it a shameful collusion with an armed militia that rebelled against legitimacy, UN resolutions, and committed corruption, destruction and wreaked havoc in Yemen.
