Sultan Qaboos of Oman sent a cable of condolences on Sunday to Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav over the victims of the earthquake that hit about 50 miles northwest of the capital of Kathmandu.

The Omani Sultan offered condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The 8.1-magnitude quake claimed at least the lives of 2000 people.
