The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israeli attack on el Zietona ship which was carrying humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip and arresting the volunteers on its board, who wanted to reach the Palestinian enclave in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The OIC considered this an Israeli piracy which comes as an extension to Israel's crimes and violation to the international law as well as the humanitarian values.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the OIC Chief Iyad Ameen Madani said that Israel shoulder the responsibility of the safety of the participants in this humanitarian convoy, calling for releasing them.

He further reiterated the stance of the organization pertaining to the importance of lifting the siege imposed on the Palestinian people and allowing goods to enter Gaza Strip.
