Japan on Monday expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of a bombing attack that occurred at the Boutrosiya Church in Cairo's Abbassiya and extended its heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured.

"Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason, and Japan firmly condemns such act of terrorism," the Japanese Embassy in Cairo said in a statement.

"Japan expresses its strong solidarity with the government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and its people," it added.
