Egyptian union in Europe on Sunday condemned the failed assassination attempt that targeted Egypt’s former mufti Ali Gomaa.

In a press release, the union deplored the assassination attempt against one of Egypt’s moderate icons.

"We thank Allah for Gomaa’s safety and pray that He saves and protects Egypt from any harm," the union further said.
