Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar mourned a non-commissioned officer who was killed by unidentified assailants earlier Friday in the Upper Egyptian city of Sohag.

Abdel Ghaffar directed all the ministry's departments concerned to provide his family with all aspects of care, the ministry said in a statement.

A non-commissioned officer identified as Aql Mohamed Moustafa was killed was shot dead on his way to work at Tahta Police Station.
