Manama - Arab Today
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry condemned on Sunday the terrorist attacks that targeted the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran.
In a statement, the ministry said such barbaric acts are considered a clear violation of international charters and conventions that stipulate protecting diplomatic missions.
Protesters in Iran, angered by the execution by Saudi Arabia of a prominent Shi'ite cleric, broke into the Saudi embassy in Tehran Saturday, setting fires and throwing papers from the roof. The Saudi consulate in Mashhad was also attacked.
It urged Iranian authorities to shoulder full responsibility towards providing all needed protection to diplomatic missions.
It also called for taking deterrent legal action against the attackers.
