Al Azhar condemned on Thursday the terrorist attack that targeted a Catholic church in the Yemeni city of Aden.

In a press release, Azhar said that attacking churches via demolishing or bombing them or intimidating worshipers is prohibited by Islam and all monotheistic religions.

The statement also asserted support to Yemeni people in their confrontation against extremism and terrorism.

It urged the international community to unify its efforts to eliminate terrorism.
