Former UN Secretary General Boutros Ghali

Former United Nations Secretary General Boutros Ghali said the Egyptian diplomacy is making tremendous efforts to drum up support for achieving sustainable development for peoples and secure peace and stability.

In statements on the 70th anniversary of establishing the world organization, he pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted during his meetings in New York that there was a link between achieving peace, stability and sustainable development and confronting extremism and terrorism worldwide.

The former UN boss said terrorism and extremism threaten humanity and that there is a need for the United Nations to lead a campaign to fight such evil acts.

He shed light on Egypt's possible admission at the Security Council as a non-permanent member on Africa to work for achieving peace and security in the Middle east.
