Glamorous and disciplined shapes

Glamorous and disciplined shapes Armani/Casa, the Giorgio Armani Group’s Home Furnishings Division, has unveiled its 2011-12 collection of home furnishing solutions defined by disciplined shapes, elegance and harmony .
Armani/Casa is brought to the region by Emaar Retail LLC, which manages the first dedicated store of the prestigious global brand at “The Dubai Mall”. Now available in store, the new Armani/Casa 2011-12 collection has two separate looks, “Metropolitan Home”, where glamour and sophistication are to the fore, and “Holiday Home”, where the emphasis is on comfort with a positive accent on practicality, but always with an ultra-warm ambience.
Comfortable sofas and armchairs, covered in fabrics from the Armani/Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli Collection, draw the eye towards the precious woods which themselves serve as a decorative feature. Walls and curtains in parchment-colour linen add to the spacious feeling, providing a framework of light and shade to house the black maple furniture with its strong graphic impact.
Holiday homes with their generous and welcoming spaces are defined by the use of materials – described by the designer as “essential” – and by the relationship with the landscape outside. The colour and three-dimensional properties of the wood become part of the structure of the space, creating a relaxed and dynamic “beach hut” effect.
The functional aspects of the furniture are emphasised by practical details, such as the arm and head rests at the sides and backs of the sofas, the always luxuriously padded chairs and the useful drawers under the beds.
Both design solutions incorporate refined and restrained bathroom systems from Armani/Roca based on key units in smoked cherry or charcoal-lacquered oak, which can be easily fitted together to suit different spaces, or made to measure.
Also new is the unique collection of furnishing fabrics: Armani/Casa Exclusive Textiles by Rubelli. In addition to the mottled velvets, faux plain-effect woven silks and fabrics with three-dimensional textures, this year sees the arrival of a range of totally new prints with a light and contemporary quality.
The Dubai store of Armani/Casa has an area of 330 square meters with a unique long curved window that gives total visibility of the interior. The display creates a distinctive atmosphere through a combination of products that range from furniture and furnishings to accessories, décor and fabrics.
