Rabiha Diab

Rabiha Diab Ramallah - Imtyaz al-Maghrabi Rabiha Diab, the Palestinian Authority’s Minister for Women\'s Affairs, spoke to Arabstoday about her call for a unified approach to the Israeli “aggression against the Palestinian people as a whole.”  “We stand in solidarity with ourselves, not only with our associates in Gaza,” Diab explained, stressing the contrast between “the Israeli army, considered the 10th force in the world, and our unarmed people who have nothing.” The Minister has called for “help acquiring our inalienable and legitimate rights as established by the United Nations.” “The world must know that Israeli children aren’t more precious than Palestinian children,” Diab affirmed, pointing out that the Israeli offensive has “killed and dismembered children.” Diab dismissed reports broadcast by Israel portraying a state of panic in the country, stating that it has become a habit for Israelis to project to the world the image that they live in constant terror. During her recent Arab solidarity visit to the Gaza Strip, the Women’s Minister expressed her thanks to those who stood by the Palestinian people and express their support. But she pressed for action, pointing at a political, economic and financial stand to help us remain steadfast. She urged for unity and mutual support in the face of Israeli aggression for the Palestinian people to “rid themselves of a black history of division.” ? She concluded by saluting the “Vanguard” Palestinian women of the Gaza Strip: “They know what the Palestinian woman is and what she means to the Palestinian people.” Speaking about the future, she said the Ministry for Women’s affairs was part of the Palestinian people’s vision. She urged all Palestinians to stand up and step up to support their folk in the Gaza Strip, promising action if the Israeli aggression continued.
