A team of bartenders from the Belgian resort city of Knokke were placed in the Guinness Book of World Records after they concocted the world's largest mojito, local media said on Monday. The giant 2,011-liter minty cocktail, one of the favorite beverages of late U.S. writer Ernest Hemingway, was mixed in a two-meter-high six-sided plexiglass container. The previous record was set by the Italians in July when they made a 1,300-liter mojito. After the Cuban cocktail was ready, part of it was poured into smaller glasses and sold for 5 euros per glass to the locals. The rest of the sweet limey beverage was bottled and will go on sale in the shops of Knokke. The proceeds will be allocated to young families in need.
