Nepalese police sources said that 16 women and 2 men died meanwhile 24 survivors were rescued and rushed to hospital after a tractor-pulled truck collapsed ditching into a watercourse in Eastern Nepal today.
The passenger truck was conveying Hindu pilgrims from another district to a religious shrine when the incident happened.
The incident occurred as a result of extreme traffic congestion.
The tractor-towed truck was carrying 50 passengers. Locals were reportedly still searching for likely survivors.
