Scores of settlers break into Al Aqsa Mosque amid tight security

Scores of Jewish settlers, accompanied by several rabbis, broke into Al Aqsa mosque from Bab Magharba gate under the protection of the Israeli police on Tuesday.

About 153 Jewish settlers stormed the holy mosque and carried out provocative tours into the compound in a bid to perform their Talmudic prayers but they were intercepted by worshipers who chanted slogans against their repeated storming, sources of Al Quds said.

Meanwhile, Israeli police units stationed at Al Aqsa mosque's gates have imposed drastic measures against Palestinian worshipers by taking some of their IDs and preventing some others from entering the sacred place, the sources added.

Also, a Palestinian young man was arrested by the Israeli police units near Faisal gate and was held in a police station located close to the Lions' gate in Al Quds.

The Israeli break-ins come in response to calls launched by Jewish organizations to storm Al Aqsa mosque in large numbers to perform Talmudic rituals for an Israeli teenage and a well-known rabbi who were killed few days ago in Hebron city.
