A Palestinian boy was wounded when Israeli forces, stationed at Atara checkpoint in northern Ramallah, opened fire at Palestinians marking the 12th death anniversary of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

The 15-year-old boy, Anes Mahmoud Zayed, was shot in the thigh during confrontations that broke out between the occupation forces and school students marking Arafat death anniversary in northern Ramallah.

Israeli forces fired live ammunition, tear gas canisters and sound bomb at the protesters, mostly boys.

The Israeli forces closed Atara checkpoint to Palestinians and vehicles following the clashes.

Activists aired video clips showing the occupation forces while savagely dragging the wounded Palestinian boy and banning ambulances from reaching him.
