Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni

Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni asserted that his country will resume working for supporting the current negotiations to form a Libyan national unity government.

In a released statement by the Italian Foreign Ministry Tuesday, Gentiloni said that he conducts daily talks on the possible solutions for the crisis in Libya, asserting his full support for the efforts of UN special envoy Bernardino León.

The statement added that Gentiloni agreed with Algerian Minister of Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel on resuming contacts with the Libyan parties to support the UN envoy’s initiative.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the Higher Commission of the Refugees Affairs in Geneva Melissa Fleming asserted that the organization was not able of getting the aid supplies to thousands of the refugees in spite of delivering them to thousands of displaced in Tripoli.

Fleming called on the conflicting parties in Libya to allow humanitarian aid to the needy people.
