Israeli navy targets fishermen boats in Gaza waters

Israeli navy boats opened fire at Palestinian fishermen off Gaza Strip coasts, local sources said.

The attack forced the fishermen to return to shore.

There were no reports of casualties.

Israel’s navy regularly attacks fishermen off the Gaza coast, damaging or seizing their boats and sometimes causing death or injuries among them.

The Oslo agreement allows fishermen to go 12 nautical miles off coast, but Israel had unilaterally changed that over the years and allows fishing in only three nautical miles in sea.
