Ramallah - Arab Today
Israeli occupation forces detained 16 Palestinians in various West Bank cities on Tuesday.
The Palestinian Prisoner Club said in a statement that the Israeli forces stormed the cities Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah and a number of neighborhoods in the occupied Jerusalem and arrested the citizens under the pretext they are wanted.
The Israeli army launches arrest campaigns on a daily basis against dozens of Palestinians in various cities and villages of the West Bank under various pretexts.
Meanwhile, staff from the so-called West Jerusalem municipality launched today a demolition campaign against Palestinian-owned structures in the town of Al-Issawiya, an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem, according to a local official.
Member of the follow up committee in Al-Issawiya, Ra’ed Abu Ryaleh, told WAFA news agency that Israeli forces demolished the foundations of a private-owned Palestinian house in Al-Thahra neighborhood in the said town, as well as razed a land and knocked down its surrounding wall, in addition to several structures present on the land.
The official said that large Israeli military forces, who accompanied the municipal staff, imposed a tight military cordon around the area prior to the demolition, spurring clashes with Palestinian locals.
Shortly after, bulldozers of the said Israeli municipality demolished a shed used as a storage in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, under the pretext of being built without Israeli-issued permit.
