Gaza - Arab Today
The Israeli authorities reopened on Wednesday Gaza Strip crossings of Karam Abu Salem and Beit Hanoun (Erez) after a two-day closure for Jewish New Year celebrations.
Israel allowed on Wednesday 900 trucks loaded with goods, aid supplies and construction materials to enter Gaza via Karam Abu Salem crossing.
A small amount of diesel oil will be pumped into the strip.
Karm Abu Salem is the only commercial crossing through which the Israeli authorities allow the entry of commodities into Gaza.
The crossing was closed for five days starting from Friday and was exceptionally opened on Sunday to allow a small amount of diesel oil into the strip over power outage which the enclave suffered for lack of fuel.
