Israeli occupation authorities declared that a tight security cordon would be imposed on the West Bank during the Jewish holidays, starting from midnight Tuesday till midnight Thursday.
Israeli authorities announced that Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza would be banned from entering Jerusalem and the 1948 preoccupied land, Israel. It said only emergency humanitarian cases would be granted permission to enter Jerusalem and Israel, after obtaining an entry approval from the Israeli side.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces Wednesday morning shot and critically injured at least a Palestinian during clashes in Kafr Aqab village, north of Jerusalem, Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) cited medical sources as saying. WAFA said that large numbers of Israeli troops stormed Kafr Aqab and Qalandiya refugee camp, sparking clashes with local youths.
Troops indiscriminately fired stun grenades, tear gas canisters and live rounds during the raids, hitting at least a young man and causing many others to suffocate.
Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics confirmed that an ambulance evacuated a young man who sustained a serious injury to a Jerusalem hospital after being shot with a live round in the head.
