Iran's Islamic Republic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) dismantled a militant group "linked to foreign spy services" in the southeast of the country, Press TV reported on Monday.
All the members of the terror team were killed in the operation by the IRGC's ground forces in Qasre Qand and Nik Shahr regions in Sistan and Baluchestan Province on Monday morning, the report said without elaborating on the death toll and their affiliation.
A large amount of weaponry, ammunition and communication equipment were also seized during the operation, according to the report.
In February, Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced that the Iranian security forces dismantled a militant cell in province of Sistan and Baluchestan, arrested many and seized 350 kg of explosives.
Sistan and Baluchestan, mostly populated by Sunni Muslims, has been the scene of bloody clashes between the Sunni rebels and the Iranian security forces.
