A group of Jewish settlers Monday morning stormed the Aqsa Mosque from the Magharebah gate under tightened security measures by Israeli forces.

At least 300 Jewish settlers on Wednesday stormed the precincts of Aqsa Mosque from Bab el Maghrebah gate amid strict security measures by the Israeli occupation forces, reported the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).

A number of Jewish rabbis took part in the storming operation and made provocative tours of the holy site.

Aqsa Mosque guards suspended six settlers who were performing Talmud prayers at the holy place.

Worshipers have challenged the settlers and chanted "God Is Great" to force the settlers leave the holy compound.

The so-called "Temple Mount" organization supporters have called for carrying out expanded storming operations of Aqsa Mosque in response to the UN Educational, Cultural and Scientific (UNESCO) resolution denying any link of Jewish to the sacred place and considering the holy compound as an Islamic heritage site.
