The committee for legislative reform is working on restructuring the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) without any plans to sack workers and employees in the state-run body, said Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Transitional Justice Ibrahim el Heneidy said in press remarks.

The plan for restructuring the ERTU does not include dismissal of any worker, he said.

Concerns have been raised that restructuring Maspero is an attempt to dismiss thousands of workers.

Heneidy is also the chairman of the supreme committee for legislative reform.

He noted that restructuring plan is meant to take advantage of the large number of employees working in the ERTU.

The committee is considering the entity that will be in charge of the duties of Information Minister, Heneidy said.

Asked about the anti-discrimination bill, the minister said the bill was drafted from various laws and will be presented to the coming parliament.

Commenting on a proposed bill to settle Nubian people, Heneidy said that the cabinet will prepare a unified law grouping all marginalized and border areas.
