Jodie Sweetin says Michelle Tanner will have a presence on Fuller House.
The 33-year-old Stephanie Tanner actress revealed as much in an interview with Us Weekly on Thursday. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen won't reprise Michelle on the Full House spinoff, but the character isn't gone for good.
"The Michelle character is still going to have a presence," Sweetin told the magazine. "It's not like we're not taking about her. I love and support [Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen], and I think we're going to be just fine."
"We first started talking about [the spinoff] in like 2007, 2008," she recalled. "This has been a long time in the making. I had kind of given up for periods of time where I'm like, 'It's not going to happen!' But we pitched it to Netflix and they were so excited about it."
Danny Tanner actor Bob Saget is confirmed for the new series, and voiced his support for the Olsen twins this week. The 28-year-old sisters head several clothing lines, and won Womenswear Designer of the Year for The Row at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday.
Sweetin and Saget will reunite with Candace Cameron Bure, John Stamos, Andrea Barber, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin on the sitcom, which follows a widowed and pregnant D.J. Tanner (Bure) as she raises her sons with the help of sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmi (Barber).
Sweetin portrayed Stephanie throughout Full House's 1987 to 1995 run, and went on to star on web series Can't Get Arrested with Bure and Coulier. She is also scheduled to play Charlotte Disney in Khoa Le's upcoming Walt Disney biopic, Walt Before Mickey.
