Emy Samir Ghanem is not rushing into her acting career, despite that she’s been offered several main character roles so far. She reveals to Arabstoday why. The Egyptian actress said: “I want to take it step by step; this is why I refused many offers. It’s not because I’ve become popular that I should play main characters straight away. “Even if I’ve had main roles before, I am very nervous about it. Also I prefer good roles to main roles.” Quality is the main factor for the 25-year-old actress: “It doesn’t matter how many scenes I appear in, as long as it is a good script, a good role. The director and the main actor are also very important. I take my decisions according to these elements.” Emy was also ecstatic when she talked about her experience with Mohamed Heneidy in ‘My horrible Grandma’ (Teta Rahiba) “The fact that Mohamed Heneidy was playing in the film attracted me to this role straight away. I liked the movie as soon as I read the script.” The Egyptian actress also revealed a few secrets about Heneidy: “He is one of the most anxious actors I have worked with. Heneidy loves acting so much that he plays every role as if it was the first time.” Emy revealed that she was very nervous about playing with famous actresses like Samiha Ayoub: “I was always scared that they would get offended if I did something wrong. But Samiha Ayoub was very natural and friendly. I was very surprised because she always seemed so serious and determined, but she turned out to be very different.” She admitted that the final scene of the movie – where she gives birth - was very difficult to play: “It took an entire day, the temperature was unbearable and I almost lost my voice from all the screaming!
