A  number of spouses of members of diplomatic corps in the country, has presented donations to support programmes of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, for the benefit of children in Somalia and People with Determination in the country.

This came when Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Deputy Secretary-General of Local Affairs at the Emirates Red Crescent, received a donation cheque from the head of the team's group, Dr. Amina Gad, wife of the Egyptian Ambassador, in the presence of a number of wives of ambassadors accredited to the UAE.

Al Mansouri briefed them about the efforts exerted by ERC to fight famine in Somalia, through the nationwide 'For You, Somalia' campaign.

He also hailed the gesture and the spouses support for the activities and programmes of the foundation. He added that the donation exemplifies the meaning of human solidarity and communication among peoples.
