The Stinking Local Elections in Morocco

Balloting stations opened their doors on Friday to Moroccans wishing to cast their votes in their country's parliamentary elections, the second since a new constitution was endorsed.

Only voters with IDs will be allowed to choose who to represent them from 7,000 candidates competing on 395 seats, according to the Moroccan official news agency.

The banned Justice and Charity movement is boycotting the polls.

About 15.7 million eligible voters are registered with the government, but some politicians are pressing to allow any ID holders to cast their votes.
