Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani participated in the meetings of the 34th session of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council, which kicks off today in Tunis.
The 34th session is attended by Arab interior ministers and high-level security delegations, as well as representatives of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Arab Maghreb Union, the Arab States Broadcasting Union, the Arab Organization for Tourism, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences.
It was opened by speeches delivered by Tunisian Minister of Interior El-Hadi El-Majdoub on behalf of President Beji Caid Essebsi, Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers' Council Dr Mohammed bin Ali Koman.
The participants will discuss during the meetings a number of issues of interest to joint Arab action in the security field. They will also discuss what has so far been implemented by member states in relation to Arab security strategy, Arab strategy to combat terrorism, Arab strategy to combat the illicit use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Arab strategy for traffic safety, and Arab strategy for civil protection. 
The participants will look into the recommendations of the conferences and meetings held within the framework of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior along with the outcomes of the joint meetings held during 2016, in addition to a number of other important topics.
