The Ministry of Finance has today denied any plans to increase the prices of flour. "The Government has no intention to scrap flour subsidies, whether at present or in the future", said Undersecretary Aref Saleh Khamis.

He stressed the Government’s commitment to the current flour subsidies out of keenness on the basic commodities for citizens and residents. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he dismissed news posted on social media websites claiming the Ministry of Finance had issued a statement in this regard. He urged citizens and residents to get information from official sources and pay no heed to incorrect news.
