Deputy Prime Minister, Public Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani pursued Sunday his visit to Russia, where he met with Moscow Patriarchate Foreign Relations Department Head Archbishop Hilarion, highlighting the importance of the Orthodox Church's support for Lebanon.

The latest developments in Lebanon and the general prevailing conditions in the region, especially the Syrian refugees dossier topped their discussions.

Talks also tackled the general Christian situation in Lebanon especially that the Russian Orthodox Church is showing great interest towards the conditions of Christians in the East, and the need to strengthen their stability.

During the meeting, Hasbani stressed on working for stability and neutrality in Lebanon, the importance of the Russian Orthodox Church's support for Lebanon at various levels, as well as building social, human, cultural and economic bridges and strengthening the role of institutions associated with the Church
